Our client is a global mid cap private equity investment company with a broad range of almost c60 companies in their current portfolio. The current portfolio comprises c£6bn of assets under management.
Our client has embarked upon a program of delivering efficiency through the adoption of consistent and leveraged procurement best practise across the portfolio. This activity is geared securing the benefits of scale economies driving immediate cost reduction benefits into portfolio companies at a low cost to deliver.
Odesma were engaged to support the portfolio procurement program post acquisition, to identify in year operating cost reduction from savings in third party spending on telecoms and data services. The focus was on achieving cost reduction quickly across multiple portfolio companies in a way that could be sustained for the medium to long term.
Odesma deployed a small team of subject matter experts, highly versed in this specific market and with a successful track record of high quality delivery. Our SMEs worked alongside key stakeholders across the businesses, conducting structured benchmarking of the tariff and demand position for dedicated internet, MPLS and Voice communications. Within 20 days the team identified and validated cost reduction and efficiency opportunities across mobile & enterprise communications (28 – 52%) and global data networks (12% – 18%) based upon demand management and cross portfolio aggregated regional contracts.
