The Local Government Procurement Expo (LGPE) 2018 will be on 28 November 2018, at London West, Hammersmith. It is designed to help procurement personnel working in the local government sector enhance their skills and capabilities. The one-day event will allow buyers and suppliers to network with a range of industry leaders and also boost their knowledge. The event hopes to add to the new National Procurement Strategy announced by the government and to help the public sector align its results and objectives to the strategy.

What awaits expo participants?

LPGE 2018 will have 25 speakers and more than 700 key decision makers. It will provide the industry with an opportunity to exhibit their products and services to the decision makers, who have the responsibility to handle spend of more than £55 billion each year.

Supported by the Local Government Association, the expo will feature a range of learning zones, and also allow procurement professionals to find out about changes in the government procurement regulations while networking with suppliers and local government authorities.

Some key features of the event include a supplier-focused learning zone, three buyer-focused learning zones, product showcase, and Local Government Association procurement pavilion featuring AGMA, Crown Commercial Service, YPO and NEPO.

Benefits for the public sector

LPGE 2018 will help procurement professionals who engage with the marketplace or influence the public sector organisation’s procurement. It will help augment their knowledge and skills by featuring several interactive learning zones. The zones will cover topics relevant to the National Procurement Strategy, including commercialisation, leadership, and social value.

Advantages for the private sector

The private sector will have a range of exclusive sponsorship opportunities as well as exhibition promotional prospects. If an organisation is seeking to enter the public procurement marketplace, the event will provide the right stepping stone. Suppliers will be able to gain tendering tips and learn more about innovation in the public procurement sector.
